Vote for me @ The Improvisation Top 50

JANET DAY

Growing up in Chicago an aspiring actress since age 7, she took time out to marry her grammar school sweetheart and raise two sons (yes they are still happily married). She attended “The Actors Training Institute” in Chicago under the tutelage of Dr. Mark Rose. She portrayed Chloe in the “Sheridan’s Of Chicago” on C.A.N.TV19, a soap opera written by Dr. Rose. From there she was trained in improv and skit comedy at “Second City Northwest.” She then joined several different comedy troupes, “Whose Kids Are These Anyway”, “Gag Reflex” and “Udder Chaos” a two women group. In recent years she has been performing stand-up comedy as her nemesis “Doris Schlockman”, a character she developed in “Second City.” She has performed at “K.J. Riddles Comedy Stop”, “The Funny Bone”, “Fins Comedy Club”, “Comedy Revue”, “Ringside Two” and “McCurdy’s” to name a few. She had short movie roles in “The Package” from Orion Productions (on the cutting room floor) and “An Uneasy Silence” from Full Circle Films (never released). Her latest work (which she considers her best) is promoting a television pilot she created that was scripted by two Hollywood scriptwriters and one of the stars of the “American Pie” movies. Although she may be the oldest member of the group, she is nowhere near done yet. As she once told Spike O’Dell on his W.G.N. radio show out of Chicago, “I will know I have made it when Doris and I are on “Saturday Night Live”.
